Pacific Adhesive Systems (M) Sdn Bhd is looking for a Technical Engineer to join our pioneering team at our state‑of‑the‑art Application Development Centre (ADC) in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia, successfully launched in March! This is a full‑time, on‑site role where you'll be at the forefront of adhesive innovation, directly supporting our global clients and internal projects.

At Pacific Adhesive Systems, we're dedicated to pushing the boundaries of adhesive technology. Our cutting‑edge facility boasts a comprehensive suite of advanced material characterization instruments. You'll have the exciting opportunity to master these tools and apply your expertise to solve real‑world challenges across diverse industries.

What You'll Do:

Driving Application Development: Lead and support new application development projects from concept to completion. This includes verifying client‑provided Critical‑to‑Quality (CTQ) parameters and providing crucial customer evaluation support. You'll be a key player in understanding and solving customer needs.

Precision Testing & Analysis: Develop and validate robust test methods, meticulously document all testing and equipment qualification, and ensure timely completion. Your analytical prowess will be vital for generating reliable, actionable insights.

Client Solutions & Support: Act as a technical expert for our customers, providing insightful solutions and addressing quality concerns or complaints through advanced analytical techniques. You'll also conduct technical seminars for customers to share expertise and best practices.

Ensuring Compliance & Quality: Manage requests for technical documentation and ensure adherence to global regulations by collaborating closely with our principals. You'll also actively contribute to our ISO 9001 Quality Management System, upholding our commitment to excellence.

Method & Tool Development: Continuously develop new test methods and improve sample preparation techniques. You'll also develop application tools, such as product demos, to showcase adhesive capabilities.

Collaborative Innovation: Work effectively within diverse teams, demonstrating strong project management skills, and communicating seamlessly across different functional groups to achieve shared goals.

Delivering Excellence: Consistently deliver high‑quality results on time, maintain the highest standards in all assigned work, and readily take on new challenges. You're someone who thrives on independent work and high productivity.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a knack for finding quick and creative solutions to complex situations.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, combined with an open‑minded, self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and collaborative approach.

Hands‑on experience with material characterization instruments is highly valued. Experience with techniques like FTIR, TGA, DSC, TMA, DMA, Rheometer, Viscometer, Die Shear, or Universal Testing Machines (UTM) would be a strong advantage.

Prior experience in adhesive application (1‑2 years) or in material science industry is a plus, though fresh graduates eager to learn and grow will also be considered.
