A Technical Application Manager for software development oversees the stability, security, and performance of the applications that support the software development lifecycle. Key responsibilities include ensuring system availability, and leading the IT operations team to support development needs and business objectives.

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in infrastructure and security, and the ability to align IT operations with business goals through strategic planning and budget management.

What You’ll Do
  • System availability and performance: Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of IT systems to meet business needs. Monitor and optimize system performance and capacity planning.
  • Software and application support: Maintain and manage software applications used in development and operations, ensuring they are up-to-date, secure, and functioning correctly.
  • Security and compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems, manage access controls, deploy patches, and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Team leadership: Lead and manage the IT operations team, guiding software developers and data analysts, overseeing daily tasks, and providing support and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Project management: Lead IT projects within operations from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Strategic planning: Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization’s goals and stay current with industry trends.
  • Budgeting and resource allocation: Manage the IT budget, including planning and resource allocation for projects and ongoing operations.
  • Incident and problem management: Manage and resolve IT incidents, troubleshoot problems, and take steps to prevent future issues to maintain optimal IT uptime.
  • Continuous improvement: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for applications and team performance, lead efforts to automate repetitive tasks and optimize support processes, and promote DevOps practices and agile methodologies for faster, reliable delivery.
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance: Ensure applications comply with security, regulatory, and organizational standards. Implement proper change management, version control, and incident response processes.
  • Technology roadmap: Define and execute the application technology roadmap in alignment with enterprise IT strategy, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend solutions that enhance system performance, scalability, and user experience.
Who You Are
  • Proven leadership experience in managing medium to large-scale technology operations.
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing, virtualization technologies, and networking principles.
  • Strong technical proficiency and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
