Job description

We are seeking experienced professionals to lead and manage the recovery and resolution of impaired and written‑off SME banking portfolios. This role is critical in formulating and executing strategies to maximize recovery, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver financial targets. Candidates may be considered for either Team Leader or Head of SME Banking Recovery, depending on experience and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective debt recovery strategies for impaired and written‑off SME accounts to maximize returns.
  • Negotiate with borrowers, guarantors, solicitors, and other stakeholders to achieve optimal resolutions.
  • Review and approve restructuring, rescheduling (R&R), settlement proposals, and payment programs within delegated authority.
  • Oversee claims submissions and progress monitoring (e.g., CGC/SJPP) to ensure timely execution.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Lead and manage a team of recovery professionals (Head role) or assist in team management (Team Leader role).
  • Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to impairment provisioning reviews where applicable.
  • Deliver annual recovery targets and support strategic initiatives for SME banking recovery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Credit Professional (CCP), Professional Credit Certification (PCC), or Chartered Banker (CB) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in credit management, SME loan restructuring, and recovery; Head role typically requires 10‑15 years with proven leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, risk management, and both conventional & Shariah banking practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
