Job summary

Job description

Our client is a US-based company specializing in the oil & gas and manufacturing sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Compliance: Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual tax calculations for all China entities. Support tax applications (e.g., withholding tax, import/export VAT) and coordinate submissions with Field Finance or local tax firms. Work closely with the Tax Reporting team to ensure timely and accurate filings.
  • Audit Support: Assist local tax and government audits by providing required information and coordinating with Tax Reporting and Corporate Tax teams.
  • VAT/WHT Reconciliations & Account Control: Review and reconcile VAT and WHT accounts, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution with stakeholders.
  • Statistics Reporting: Lead preparation of statistical reports by assembling SAP/HR/tax data in BPC and ensuring readiness for downstream submissions.
  • Incentives & JV Support: Support incentive and subsidy applications with forecasts. Assist JV GMs in preparing financial reports for partners and coordinate partner requests, including participation in BOD meetings if needed.
  • Fixed Assets Compliance: Maintain China Fixed Assets local tax book in compliance with applicable tax requirements and company practices; ensure regular reconciliations.
  • Transition & Team Building: Oversee transition projects, assign duties, coordinate knowledge transfer, trainings, and documentation, ensuring smooth handover with all stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in direct tax (Senior Accountant) or 12 years (Tax Manager). Candidates with Big 4 tax experience are highly welcomed.
  • Language: Proficient in spoken and written Chinese to liaise effectively with local counterparts.
  • Others: Only serious and responsive applicants will be considered.

Candidates with direct tax experience and Chinese language skills are welcome, even without prior China tax exposure.
