Job summary

A leading sustainability organization is seeking a Sustainability Data Project Manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role involves managing data needs, creating data solutions, and leading projects to improve internal processes. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree in Data Management, at least 5 years of experience, and strong skills in Excel and Tableau. Your Role

As Sustainability Data Project Manager (Solution Architect), you will be primarily responsible for:

  • Understanding the data needs of various internal teams.
  • Translating the needs into technical requirements.
  • Creating, implementing, reviewing and improving internal data processes, including data structure, handling and quality controls.
  • Creating data solutions for new commodities, products, or services (internal and external).
  • Designing and implementing dashboards to better visualize the data and guide action.
  • Exploring new data-driven solutions to challenges faced in data collection and management.
  • Supporting various teams with analysis of data to enable data-driven decisions.
  • Leading different data projects – examples of this are: database implementation, leading the continuous improvement of the Starling platform, review of global work processes.
  • Managing relationships with external partners we work with to deliver data solutions – examples of this are: database implementation, Starling, etc.

With excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding communication and a helpful, supportive attitude, you naturally animate sessions with a variety of stakeholders to work on diverse and sometimes complex projects. Thanks to your intensely creative, “out-of-the-box” thinking, you are able to design and build innovative data-driven solutions, user-friendly templates, tools and dashboards, as well as high value presentations, which makes you a great asset to the team.

Strong project management skills are a necessity, as are demonstrable advanced Excel skills (in-cluding VBA) and Tableau skills. Experience with Python, SQL or other programming languages would be a great plus to be successful in the role, as would experience with database management, automation tools and/or survey tools.
