Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Technician II at Jabil, Inc. supports the Supplier Quality Engineering team in ensuring the quality of incoming materials and components. This role involves inspecting parts, performing measurements, and assisting with supplier corrective actions to maintain high product standards and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials and components according to established specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to verify product conformity.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records in the quality management system.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming materials, initiating proper disposition processes (e.g., Return Material Authorization - RMA).
  • Assist Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) in root cause analysis for supplier quality issues and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Production, Engineering, Purchasing) to address and resolve supplier quality concerns.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and assist with supplier audits as directed by SQEs.
  • Provide support in the qualification and validation of new suppliers and materials.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of supplier quality processes and procedures.
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations and quality management system requirements.
Job Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics or a related industry.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T knowledge preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience using various measurement instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot quality issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
