A leading energy company in Malaysia is seeking a Steam Plant Manager to oversee boiler operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Grade 2 Steam Engineer certificate, and at least 10 years of experience in the industry. Responsibilities include troubleshooting steam systems, optimizing efficiency, and coordinating maintenance activities. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Steam plant manager which manage boiler operation with a capacity to supply 40 t/h of saturated steam every 24/7.
Operate, maintain and troubleshoot steam boilers, steam turbines, steam piping, and associated equipment complying to the regulation stated by DOSH.
Monitor steam system performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on steam equipment according to schedules and procedures.
Identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions in the steam generation system.
Collaborate with the engineering team to implement improvements and upgrades to the steam system.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain detailed records and logs of steam system operations and maintenance activities.
Act as liaison during DOSH statutory inspection on steam boilers and related equipment.
Responsible for ensuring the works get done as per priority to the highest level and cost-effective manner.
Responsible for developing, planning, and scheduling preventive maintenance programs and ensuring that establish plans, procedure, and schedules are followed.
Plan and coordinate all maintenance activity pertaining to the boiler and facilities equipment (Boiler water treatment, Steam piping, Steam turbine, Steam Condenses, Air Compressor, and all other unfired pressure vessel).
Liaise with client regarding all matters pertaining to dispatch, shutdowns and ensure document related to internal & external audit by client & DOSH updated and keep properly.
Keep record of chemical usage and ensure chemical stock is maintain properly.
Ensure all equipment is in safe operating conditions, eliminating safety hazards and ensuring the practice of good housekeeping in the boiler and related facilities work area.
Job RequirementsMUST qualified as Grade 2 Steam Engineer-certificate issued by DOSH.
Must possess at least a Bachelor Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of experience in boiler operation/repair as a Steam Engineer within the mechanical engineering industry.
Experienced in maintenance aspect of large capacity steam and gas turbine and the associate auxiliaries, in utilities or related industries.
Thorough understanding of steam generation systems, including boilers, turbines, and associated components.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and operating manuals.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think critically and find innovative solutions.
Mature, well organized and can work under minimum supervision.
