Job description

Core Job Responsibilities

• Create/design/model/prototype electronics packaging solutions for NI products.
• Select and approve materials, components, and mechanical hardware.
• Create materials processing specifications for part manufacturing.
• Certify and support external vendors involved in product/part manufacturing.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up, thermal and structural analyses of products.
• Conduct verification and validation testing for the product.
• Provide support to the manufacturing team throughout production.
• Support purchasing to ensure quality delivery of all mechanical parts.
• Become a leading technical resource on electronics packaging technology.

Position Requirements

• B.S. or MS in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Good understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes.

Ideal Candidates

• Knowledge of CAD/CAE packages: CREO, SolidWorks, etc.
• Experience in metal and plastic materials processing is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
• English Language Competency and effective communication skills.

Demonstrated Ability

• Take initiative in tackling difficult issues, be a self-starter.
• Take ownership of goals, schedules, and manage time well.
