Staff Data Protection Platform Engineering Lead

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll play a key leadership role both technically and as a mentor. You'll guide and support your team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. In this role, you'll help shape goals, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful delivery in a product‑led, empowered team structure. You’ll be a trusted technical advisor, collaborating across functions to build robust and scalable systems.

What you’ll do
  • Design and develop complex software components, services, and scalable solutions.
  • Author and review architecture and design documents, incorporating peer feedback effectively.
  • Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, ensuring high‑quality code, thorough testing, and seamless deployment.
  • Integrate systems across distributed platforms and shared APIs, ensuring resilience and reusability.
  • Collaborate with product, UX, and data science teams to align technology with business needs.
  • Identify and implement compliance controls, and support audits (e.g., security, licensing, regulatory).
  • Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and foster continuous improvement across the team.
  • Contribute to development frameworks, perform code reviews, and help establish engineering standards.
  • Communicate project status, technical decisions, and changes to cross‑functional stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands‑on experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • 5+ years of full‑stack development experience, with proficiency across front‑end and back‑end systems.
  • Strong coding skills in TypeScript, C#, and Python.
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Solid grasp of front‑end technologies including HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks, with a focus on responsive design and accessibility.
  • Cloud‑native development experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficient with both relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design and performance tuning.
  • Strong system design skills, capable of architecting secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
Experience (Desirable)
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence, align teams, and explain complex ideas clearly.
  • Confident in navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems with practical, scalable solutions.
