Job summary

A financial services company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a skilled Finance professional to oversee financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and provide accounting support to various functions. The ideal candidate should have more than 5 years of experience in Financial Accounting, especially within the Commodity sector, and a degree in Business or Accounting. Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SAP or OneStream would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of working experience in Financial Accounting.
• Hand-on experience in Commodity Accounting preferred.
• Knowledge of US GAAP is an advantage.

Job description

Responsible for supporting financial reports, income tax, Sales and Service tax, statutory reporting which need to comply with different government agencies; supporting treasury, operation, legal, IT for financial and other admin tasks.

Accountabilities

Review all the accounting entry and ensure that high quality month end closing to ensure completeness, accuracy and integrity of accounting data in SAP and OneStream.

Review monthly reports and quarterly SEC / SFAS reporting package prepared by our Shared Service Center.

Review and perform monthly management accounts to comply with US GAAP SOX requirements.

Working closely with traders and provide accounting results to traders via pre-close and after-close meetings.

Support Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and other functions by providing the necessary accounting data.

Preparation of Sales and Services Tax on a Bi-monthly basis and liaise with our auditor for yearly statutory accounts and other local/ statutory reports requirements.

Requirement

Degree in Business/ Accounting or professional accounting qualification with more than 5 years working experience in Financial Accounting, preferably Commodity Accounting with hands-on experience.

Good communication skills, ability to interact well and communicate with all levels of staff, including senior management.

Knowledge in US GAAP is an advantage

Preferable to have SAP or OneStream experience

Preferable to be from Agribusiness industry
