Overview
The Specialist, Product Safety & Processes Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective administration of the Compliance Program by developing, implementing, and executing an organization-wide compliance monitoring and auditing program that covers contractual, regulatory, CE and other design standards. Develops and manages organization-wide policies in conjunction with other business leaders to control how we work and what we promise to customers.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day operation of the compliance program
- Develops, initiates, maintains and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent noncompliance for any EU standards
- Monitors the performance of the compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness
- Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and seeks and provides a recommended course of corrective action and assessing internal controls
- Manages compliance incidents, performs investigations and generates reports to ensure investigations are appropriately resolved
- Develops, implements, reviews, and manages company policies regarding design and product compliance to the machine directive and other EU standards
- Creates and manages effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations
- Reviews and monitors adherence to company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk
- Ensures effective communication between compliance and quality committees
- Provides advice to relevant stakeholders on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations regarding our products
- Training coordinator: Provides or facilitates training for new employees, ongoing training for all employees and managers on standard and regulatory requirements for our products; ensures all employees are educated on the latest regulations and policies
- Additional responsibilities outside of standard job responsibilities: identify and implement global quality competence gaps and propose actions; support certifications and approvals globally; conduct regular audits on quality process and documentation in the factory; support global ISO programs
What you’ll need to succeed
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally
Experience
- Work experience from component manufacturer essential
- Minimum 5 years working experience
- Quality or Compliance management preferred
Skills
- Product safety and EU Compliance knowledge
- Delivering results according to plan
- Problem solving mentality
- Self-driven, proactive and target oriented
- 3D CAD modeling preferably in Inventor and knowledge of PDM systems
- Ability to handle customers in a professional way
- Spreading knowledge would be an added advantage
