Specialist - Business Technology Enablement

Role Summary
We are seeking an individual that will drive the enablement of business technology within the Business Services Organization (BSO), focusing on optimizing tools, managing vendor relationships, and driving impactful outcomes. What You’ll Do

BSO Technology Optimization
- Operationally manage BSO-owned technologies by tracking performance metrics, coordinating discussions with vendors to build and execute roadmap initiatives that align with business goals.
- Conduct reviews to identify underutilized features, integration opportunities, and configuration gaps & recommend enhancements that improve usability, performance, and measurable business value (e.g., adoption, cycle time, error rate, cost to serve, ROI).
- Assist with lifecycle documentation (architecture notes, specs, runbooks) and enhancement roadmaps; maintain decision logs and risk registers.
- Collaborate with external product owners (e.g., business teams, GPS, D&T) to align product usage with BSO goals and maximize impact.

New Technology Identification & Testing
- Scan the market for emerging technologies aligned to business needs, develop business cases analyzing fit, scalability, integration and recommend ROI driven solutions based on cost-benefit analysis.
- Build relationships with D&T, Vendor Management Office, and Procurement to identify, evaluate, and source innovative technology products that fit BSO's evolving needs.
- Run pilot programs and PoCs, define entry/exit criteria, coordinate UAT, and translate results into roadmap recommendations.

Business Engagement & Technical Design
- Engage with business users via workshops, performance reviews, surveys to understand pain points and translate them into technical options and architecture ready requirements.
- Design technology architecture from a business-first perspective, focusing on efficiency, scalability, flexibility, and future proofing.
- Collaborate with vendors and VMO on performance reviews, renewals, and continuous improvement; facilitate EA risk inputs where required.

GenAI Enablement via Prompt Engineering
- Apply prompt engineering to maximize GenAI capabilities embedded in BSO tools; create, test, and maintain prompt libraries as needed, tailored to business scenarios.
- Coach business users to leverage GenAI tools from tech stack for knowledge retrieval, SOP generation, reporting/storytelling, and decision support, ensuring responsible use and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee BSO-Owned Technologies: Assist in managing vendor relationships, shape technology evolution roadmaps, and drive optimal outcomes for BSO.
- Enable Teams with Tools & Technologies: Ensure teams have access to the right tools and technologies as needs arise, supporting readiness and capability.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively seek to improve work processes and technology, suggesting updates or modifications needed to keep up with shifts in the business environment.
- Architecture Design: Evaluate existing systems and design scalable, integrated solutions across platforms with clear component boundaries.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Run workshops with business units, developers, and IT; capture requirements as lean, testable blueprints.
- Technology Selection: Recommend fit-for-purpose stacks/tools based on business need and constraints.
- System Integration: Ensure interoperability between new and legacy systems.
- Proof of Concept (PoC): Run PoCs to validate feasibility, security, and value hypotheses before scaleup.
- Documentation: Maintain architecture diagrams, technical specs, mapping tables, and roadmaps.
- Governance & Compliance: Partner with Compliance and D&T to ensure solutions meet security, data privacy, and regulatory standards.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with strong tech fluency; or equivalent practical experience.
- Years in business systems analysis, solution architecture, or product/implementation consulting.
- Hands‑on experience with one or more: Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps/Automate), ServiceNow, Salesforce; familiarity with Azure services and SSO concepts.
- Solid grasp of configuration management, solution design patterns (integration, authN/Z, error handling), API/ETL basics, and data privacy/security fundamentals.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into architecture options and defend recommendations with data.
- Strong communicator: concise writing, visual storytelling (diagrams), facilitation.
- Comfortable working cross‑culturally, remotely, in a global environment.
- Able to present to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner - produce presentations for end users and senior leadership.
Good to Have
- Exposure to Copilot 365, Azure, OpenAI.
- Basic scripting (Python/VBA) for prototypes and data prep; Git hygiene.
- Familiarity with VMO/vendor governance and EA risk intake flows.
- Lean/Agile delivery experience; UAT planning and test evidence capture.
- Unified Mode Language Design or equivalent experience.
- Certifications: Azure Solution Architect AZ 305 Certification or equivalent experience.
