Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Georgetown for the role of Special Education Teacher. The teacher will design and implement individualized learning plans tailored to the needs of neurodivergent students. Responsibilities include teaching functional life skills, fostering social development, and nurturing independence. The teacher will collaborate with families, caregivers, and other team members to evaluate progress and adapt instructional methods to support each student's unique abilities and potential.

Responsibilities

  • Handle screening and assessment of potential students.
  • Develop, implement, and review lesson plans based on given curriculum.
  • Conduct every session’s content based on the lesson plans provided.
  • Track students’ progress, performance and behaviour.
  • Adjust lesson plan content and teaching methods/strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with team members, parents and therapists to support students’ success.
  • Build an inclusive and positive classroom environment that fosters student growth and development.
  • Keep up to date with best practices in the special needs education space and take up professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience or expertise in Special Education, working with neurodivergent children, or understanding disabilities.
  • Proficiency in Teaching and ability to adapt methods for middle school‑aged children.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children achieve their potential.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in special education or teaching are a plus.
