Job description

As the Sourcing Lead at ALPHAESS MALAYSIA SDN. BHD., you will play a crucial role in driving the company's procurement strategy and ensuring the seamless supply of materials and services. Based in Kulim, Kedah, this full‑time position will see you working closely with cross‑functional teams to identify and secure the most cost‑effective and reliable sources of supply.

Responsibilities

• Source, develop, and negotiate with qualified suppliers for price efficiency, quality, and sustainable materials supply to productions.
• Manage contracts with suppliers and formulate strategy to optimize production costs.
• Maintain good cooperative relationships with suppliers; conduct regular performance evaluation and assessment of supplier performance.
• Lead the Sourcing team in materials development, price maintenance, contract management, and cost optimization.
• Formulate and implement raw material procurement strategy under the qualified supplier list.
• Conduct inquiries, price comparison, and negotiations with suppliers according to company procedures and ensure purchase prices are reasonable.
• Carry out procurement price negotiations for other departments and produce price review reports.
• Assist in product selection using relevant professional knowledge.
• Complete cost accounting of purchased goods and fulfill annual cost reduction tasks.
• Provide business guidance to department employees; supervise and evaluate subordinate performance.
• Develop various tasks of the Sourcing team, personnel deployment, work arrangements, etc.
• Execute other tasks assigned by superior from time to time.

What we’re looking for

• Proven track record in a sourcing or procurement leadership role for at least 5 years, preferably within the engineering manufacturing industry.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
• Proficiency in data analysis, cost modelling, and strategic decision‑making.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills to address complex supply‑chain challenges.
• Adept at collaborating with cross‑functional teams and aligning procurement activities with broader business objectives.
• Familiarity with procurement best practices, industry regulations, and the latest trends in supply‑chain management.
• Knowledge in engineering drawing, inventory management and material handling equipment.
• Experience with SAP, ERP and Microsoft Office tools.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Positive, time‑sensitive attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong ethics, reliability and ability to work independently.
