Sorting Center / Distribution Center Manager
The Sorting Center Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the sorting/distribution center. This role ensures smooth parcel processing with a focus on operational efficiency, cost control, service quality, safety, and team development.
Operational Management
- Oversee and coordinate all sorting center activities to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure timely and accurate parcel processing to meet delivery schedules.
- Enforce company policies, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to support business growth.
Process Optimization
- Streamline sorting procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
- Drive standardization of processes across the center.
- Analyze operational data and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Manage workforce planning to meet operational demand, especially during peak seasons.
- Recruit, train, and lead sorting center teams.
- Set KPIs, monitor staff performance, and provide feedback and coaching.
- Build a safe, positive, and results‑oriented workplace culture.
Quality Control & Safety
- Maintain service standards through robust quality control measures.
- Monitor misclassification, loss, and complaints; implement preventive solutions.
- Manage emergency situations and ensure workplace safety compliance.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
- Maintain clear communication channels between local and international teams.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional departments to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or sorting center operations, with 1 year in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Proven ability to drive operational improvements and manage large teams.
