A consulting firm in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Test Lead to lead comprehensive test strategies and ensure quality assurance across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 10 years of hands-on QA experience, including leadership in banking or financial services. Strong skills in testing methodologies, automation tools, and communication are essential. This role involves coordinating testing activities, managing defects, and mentoring test analysts to drive efficiency and quality outcomes.
Lead the planning, design, and execution of comprehensive test strategies and test plans for projects of all sizes, from small to large‑scale initiatives.
Plan, manage, and coordinate all testing activities across multiple phases—including SIT, UAT, migration, pre‑production, and other relevant testing—ensuring accurate and timely test documentation, including test status reports, test closure reports, and other project deliverables.
Ensure end‑to‑end testing coordination, including integration coverage across systems and interfaces, to verify that all requirements are fully tested and validated.
Prepare test strategy, test plan, test cycle & execution plan, and assign test tasks to the test team.
Review all testing deliverables produced by Test Analysts to ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality.
Manage the defect lifecycle, perform defect triage meetings, and track defect resolution, ensuring proper reporting and escalation to Test COE Manager or Project Manager as needed.
Conduct daily status reporting (DSR), test progress tracking, and test control activities.
Review test results and take accountability for testing signoff and quality assurance.
Perform test execution tasks manually or via automation when required due to high testing volumes, tight schedules, or critical project stages.
Collaborate with the performance testing team on projects requiring performance testing (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) to plan, coordinate, track, and manage until signoff.
Lead, mentor, and guide Test Analysts, fostering professional growth and continuous improvement.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, PWG meetings, and project discussions to provide updates and
insights on testing progress, risks, and quality.
Conduct retrospectives with test analysts to implement continuous testing improvements.
Adopt and enforce Bank or client‑specific test processes, methodologies, templates, and tools; provide training to stakeholders when required.
Identify potential project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and communicate effectively with Project Managers, clients, and stakeholders.
Drive adoption of Appfuxion AGIS AI platform and other automation solutions to enhance testing efficiency.
Manage multiple testing projects (2–3) concurrently, ensuring successful delivery and quality.
Perform non‑project tasks related to testing processes, frameworks, and tool improvements as needed.
Requirements:
Experience: 6–10 years of hands‑on QA/testing experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or Test Lead role, preferably within the Banking or financial services domain.
Testing Expertise: Deep knowledge of testing methodologies, frameworks, and complex project testing practices, including manual and automation testing.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading, mentoring, and managing QA teams in large or complex projects.
Certifications: ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent professional QA certification preferred.
Automation Knowledge: Hands‑on experience or exposure to automation tools such as UFT, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
Analytical & Problem‑Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze issues, propose solutions, and drive defect resolution collaboratively.
Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, track, and report testing activities across multiple phases and complex project environments.
Communication Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, senior stakeholders, and team members.
Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Open to adopting new testing tools, automation approaches, and AI‑driven solutions, such as Appfuxion AGIS, to enhance team efficiency and quality outcomes.
