Software Test Engineer L1

About

As a Software Test Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Agile development team. You will play a key role in the Software Development Lifecycle ensuring that our SaaS products are delivered to a published roadmap within planned release cycles, with as few defects as possible.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about software testing, test automation and is eager to learn and grow in their career. You will be contributing towards the definition and development of a Sprint backlog to achieve the goals set out by our Product team.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute test cases, scripts, and supporting test data to ensure software meets quality standards and user requirements, following defined test processes and the SDLC.
  • Identify, track, and report defects from both a testing and customer perspective, collaborating closely with developers, project managers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure thorough testing and alignment with project goals.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using the pre-defined automation framework to sustain the required level of automation.
  • Participate in project planning and estimation to ensure testing activities are accurately scoped and properly resourced, while contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes and overall efficiency.
  • Assist with preparing test datasets, writing test cases, and executing tests based on guided understanding of requirements.
  • Take part in team ceremonies such as planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain clear documentation for test scripts and processes while keeping up to date with the latest trends and technologies in software testing and development.
Skills and Experience
  • Bring 2+ years of professional software testing experience with proven ability to contribute to teams delivering and maintaining web-based software, applying strong analytical skills, problem-solving capability, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experienced in automation scripting using tools such as Playwright, C#, Selenium, Appium, or similar, with additional exposure to SmartBear TestComplete for WinForms and Testmo for test case management.
  • Demonstrable experience using Gherkin and Cucumber to define stories and success criteria, alongside solid knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and various testing types.
  • Communicate effectively in English (written and verbal), with a willingness to teach and learn at all levels, while collaborating effectively in a team and also working independently.
  • Hold or pursue relevant certifications such as ISTQB or similar testing qualifications, cyber-related credentials like CEH, and cloud certifications including AWS Cloud Practitioner.
  • Possess a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (desirable).
