We are seeking a talented and creative Social Media Specialist to join our Social Media Team (Malaysia). As a Social Media Specialist, you have the opportunity for hands-on experience in managing our clients' social media accounts, and developing effective strategies to elevate their online presence, as well as to achieve their business objectives through social media marketing. You will be primarily working in our digital marketing brand, shakalakaa (https://shakalakaa.my).

Job Overview

Department: Social Media Team (Malaysia)

Job Type: Full-time (Minimum 12 months employment period inclusive 3 months probation)

Job Mode: Hybrid (12 days monthly in office)

Working Days: Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays

Working Hours: Flexible on remote days, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on physical days

Working Location (if required to be in office): Cheras Business Centre, Kuala Lumpur

Responsibilities
  • Develop engaging, on-brand content and plan content calendars to ensure consistent posting across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand goals, craft ad strategies, and present tailored recommendations.
  • Brainstorm, design, and write persuasive ads and organic content that boost brand awareness and conversions.
  • Analyze competitors, monitor ad performance, and optimize campaigns using data-driven insights.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports and maintain clear communication with clients, addressing concerns proactively.
  • Guide interns and contribute ideas in a dynamic, creative environment that values innovation and cross-industry experience.

  • Solid understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge and understanding on the field of digital marketing, especially on Facebook and Instagram ads, are required. Knowledge and understanding on other social media platforms are added advantages.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with no relevant working experience are welcome. Hands-on experience on social media marketing, specifically Facebook, Instagram and TikTok ads, is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge, experience and skills on graphics design and the use of Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop are added advantages.
  • Knowledge, experience and skills on photo and video shooting and editing are added advantages.
  • Minimum SPM holder. Graduates in Advertising, Marketing, Media or Communications disciplines have an added advantage.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for design.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with a cross-functional team.
  • Able to consistently meet deadlines, multi-tasking and problem-solving with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English AND Mandarin. Malay is an added advantage.
  • Able to start work immediately or with short notice is preferrable.
