Job Responsibilities

Liaise with the Contractor’s supervisory personnel to ensure a full, current and accurate understanding of the delivery program, and construction method/activities in progress;

Inspects the workmanship, quality and safety of works on construction sites and report back to your immediate superior and employer;

Conduct regular site inspections and checking the building plans are being followed correctly. You must check that work is carried out to the correct architecture, engineer drawings, and approved specifications;

Understand overall project planning to ensure you can monitor the priority of work with other related trades;

The activities on the site must follow all local authority regulations and safety regulations;

To represent as consultant’s representative, to attend relevant authority & client site visits, inspections and meetings;

Monitor closely and take prompt action on drawings/documents discrepancies including component clashes and liaise with the project team/consultants to resolve all arising technical issues;

Ensure that materials, construction standards and site practices are satisfactory;

Liaise with project team/consultants and/ or other senior Clerk-of-Works on all site matters;

Site coordination with architecture, structure, civil and M&E contractors, sub-contractors and other related contractors appointed from time to time;

Prepare progress report of all building work on a monthly basis or whenever requested by your immediate superior or review the correctness of the progress report prepared by the Contractor;

Undertake a troubleshooting role, in consultation with the project team/consultants regarding the investigation of defects and the organization and direction of remedial works;

Inform the consultant and employer of any event that will jeopardize the project's safety, quality, time and cost;

Where approval samples are available, compare work carried out against samples and ensure that it’s consistent with the original;

Monitor the progress of works and inform your immediate superior, employer and the contractor/sub-contractor of any delay or quality issue;

Schedule snagging items and defects at practical completion and at the end of the defect’s liability period;

Maintain a critical but constructive relationship with the contractor’s supervisory staff;

Ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering, Property Development, Structural or equivalent.

At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Required Skill(s): C&S infra and building, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD

Ability to interpret drawings and coordinate construction drawings between consultants and contractors.

Familiar with building regulation, material, testing and inspecting procedure.

Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.

Able to work independently under low supervision.

Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

Proven risk management experience in construction projects.

Working hour: Monday-Friday (8:00am-5.00pm), Saturday (8:00am-12pm)
