Job summary

A prominent construction firm in Johor Bahru is seeking a Safety Officer to assist in managing safety, health, and environment (SHE) matters at project sites. The role involves ensuring compliance with local safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and developing accurate safety reports. Suitable candidates must hold a diploma in Engineering related to environmental or safety fields and have at least 2 years of experience, along with the Yellow book certification. Job description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist Safety Manager / Safety Officer on safety, Health and Environment (SHE) matters relating to the implementation of work requirements of project sites.
  • Ensure Safety, Health and Environment system compliance with government regulation and requirements.
  • Perform site inspection and audit to ensure all safety methods and regulations are being observed.
  • Ensure all work activities, procedures, processes, etc. are implemented according to OSH Act, Factories And Machinery Act and other local authorities on safety and health matters.
  • Ensure and maintain a good safety plan for the safe working environment.
  • Develop accurate OSH reports and maintain relevant safety records.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct SHE activities, training and program.
  • Respond to local authorities' requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and recommend practical and cost‑effective solutions in safety management.
  • Ensure workers' basic amenities and welfare are properly attended.
  • Attend all project’s Safety and Health meetings.
  • Carry out any other duties as and when instructed by management from time to time.
Requirements
  • Candidates must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
  • At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Candidate must possess Yellow book.
