Job summary

A leading construction firm in Puchong is seeking a qualified Safety Manager to oversee safety and compliance with industry standards. The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety and a minimum of two years of management experience in the oil & gas industry. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections, leading toolbox meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHE standards. Candidates must possess necessary safety certificates, such as the DOSH Yellow Book, and have excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in management of Safety & Health or related in oil & gas industry.
  • Required DOSH Yellow Book Safety Certificate.
  • Possession of AESP and AGTES certification is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Report to Safety Officer and liaise closely with relevant parties.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and site walkabouts.
  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure adherence to OSHE standards.
  • Assist site Safety Officer in ensuring safety and health of all operations.

Qualifications
  • 1. Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management or a recognized Safety Certificate from approved authorities.
  • 2. Minimum 2 years experience in management of Safety & Health or related in oil & gas industry.
  • 3. Required DOSH Yellow Book Safety Certificate.
  • 4. Presentable image, must possess initiative, commitment and drive.
  • 5. Independent, resourceful and able to communicate at all levels of business. Project quality oriented, driven and independent; possess excellent presentation.
  • 6. Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 7. Able to communicate effectively in English, Malay.
  • 8. Possession of Authorised Entrant & Standby Person (AESP) and Authorised Gas Tester & Entry Supervisor for Confined Space (AGTES) certification registered with DOSH is an added advantage.
  • 9. Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) will be an added advantage.
  • 10. Must possess own transport and be willing to travel.
Responsibilities
  • Report to Safety Officer and liaise closely with relevant parties.
  • Liaise with clients’ safety personnel on all Occupational, Safety, Health, and Environment (OSHE) matters to ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and site walkabouts to maintain proactive safety surveillance.
  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure adherence to OSHE standards in line with governmental and industry best practices.
  • Attend and lead regular OSHE-related meetings with clients and follow up on any action items for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in identifying, investigating, and reporting root causes of incidents/accidents and conduct comprehensive risk assessments for all site activities.
  • Ensure the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of all OSHE-related procedures and standards as required by the company.
  • Assist site Safety officer in ensuring safety and health of all operations.
  • Ensure availability of first aid kit, PPE, tools, equipment and maintaining them.
