Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a project coordinator for on-site operations in Johor Bahru – Gelang Patah. Responsibilities include planning and supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of project activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and maintaining documentation. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, have at least 2 years of experience in data centre projects, and possess strong communication skills. This position requires being based on site.

Location of Work : Johor Bahru – Gelang Patah (on-site)

Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the on-site planning, execution, supervision, and coordination of installation, testing, and commissioning activities across assigned project blocks.
• Site Execution & Supervision
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning (T&C) activities in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct technical inspections and quality checks jointly with clients and site service teams.
• Monitor site progress and provide regular updates and reports to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Prepare and submit required reports, including updates to CX web levels, where applicable.
• Initiate and manage Variation Orders (VOs) for any additional or modified works on site.
• Prepare and maintain accurate MRN / PRN documentation for component purchases when required.
• Ensure proper recording and tracking of all site activities and technical issues.
• Contractor & Manpower Coordination
• Coordinate closely with contractors to ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Plan, assign, and supervise daily tasks for technicians and workers to meet project milestones and target dates.
• Material & Component Management
• Track materials and components required for site execution.
• Identify missing, delayed, or incorrect components and promptly elevate issues to the project team.
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available on site ahead of scheduled activities.
• Documentation & As-Built Records
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date site documentation.
• Ensure all site changes and modifications are properly reflected in as-built drawings.
• Take progressive site photographs and store them in the designated project folders, following the approved file naming and documentation standards.

Accountabilities

• Accountable for quality, compliance, and workmanship of all site activities.
• Responsible for identifying and resolving technical issues before they impact project timelines.
• Ensure timely communication of missing components, design changes, or site constraints.
• Accountable for the accuracy of site records, reports, and as-built documentation.
• Maintain effective and professional communication with contractors, vendors, and factory teams.

Qualification / Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience, preferably in data centre projects or mission‑critical facilities.
• Strong understanding of site execution, coordination, and commissioning activities.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Willing and able to be based on site in Johor – Gelang Patah.
