Responsibilities

  • Manage inward/outward clearance procedures with port authorities, customs, and immigration.
  • Closely communicate with relevant stakeholders on vessel movement.
  • Prepare cargo documents such as Manifest, Bill of Lading, etc.

Skills

Good written and spoken skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English
Computer literate: proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, and Email
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Physically healthy & fit for boat ride at sea

Job description
Shipping Operations Assistant Cum Boarding Officer

The Boarding Officer is responsible for attending vessels at KD Maritime Sdn. Bhd. assigned ports and ensuring all port clearance formalities, documentation, crew coordination, and cargo operations are handled efficiently and in compliance with local port authority, terminal, port health, customs, and immigration regulations. This role serves as the primary liaison between the vessel and shore-based stakeholders. Besides handling vessel clearance, the Boarding Officer is responsible for executing husbandry tasks, which include crew changes, spare/provision supplies, medical support, water supplies, and other relevance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordination of Vessel Inward/Outward & Port Clearance
  • Attend all vessels requirement upon appointment, pre-arrival preparation, arrival and departure to facilitate smooth port operations.
  • Manage inward/outward clearance procedures with port authorities, customs, marine department, and immigration.
  • Closely communicate with all relevance stakeholders such as Master, Terminal, Ports, Charterer, Cargo Owner, Government Authorities etc. on vessel movement.
  • Coordinate berth arrangements and manage the preparation of vessel movements within the port boundary.
  • Prepare and deliver port call reports, agent’s report, vessel movement report and other relevant documentation.
  • Prepare cargo documents such as Manifest, Bill of Lading (BL) etc.
  • Operate and handle Vessel Clearance System, ports & terminal system requirements for ship registration, health status application, pilot booking, berth booking etc.
  • Manage and execute vessel husbandry matters such as crew change, Cash to * Master, spare/provision supplies, medical case attendance etc.
  • Assist in vessel recertification arrangement and application such as e-DSL, Port State Control certification etc.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma or Degree preferably in Shipping, Maritime or Logistic
