Job description

To manage daily production activity such as SMW output, SMW target, supervise all the SMW staff and manpower planning.

To supervise, mentor and train sheet metal technicians and welders. Conduct performance reviews and manage shop floor staffing levels.

To develop & train all the SMW technicians based on the customer specification to produce quality parts and also train safety precautions how to handle material, chemical to avoid accident.

To ensure all the SMW staff have adequate training and competencies level are up to performing standard.

To ensure all finished products meet customer requirement and relevant quality standards.

To maintain work discipline, teamwork, communication at all the time with Engineers, Supervisors, leaders and all staff.

To manage raw material stock and oversee the maintenance / repair of machinery.

To monitor and ensure Sheet Metal KPI and audit requirements are met and achieved at all time.

To initiate and carry out continuous improvement activity within Sheet Metal areas focusing on efficiency improvement and operational cost reduction.

To implement safety requirement in the Sheet Metal Shop Floor and always explain safety awareness to the production staff in term of PPE, machine guarding protocols and standard PPE requirement into process.

To ensure that quality systems and procedures are adhered at all time by SMW personnel.

To collaborate with sales team to provide accurate labour and material cost for upcoming bids.

To ensure all processes in SMW run based on Work Instruction (WI), NADCAP, Internal procedure and customer specification.

To monitor non-conformance products to Quality Department by raising the Non-Conformance Part Record (NCPR) form for further actions by MRB team and SME Engineer.

To develop Sheet Metal instruction, process improvement, preparation production documents such as maintenance checklist, SMW output monitoring and record.

To drive for improvements in terms of output, utilization, cost and manpower savings based on Lean operations and standard work.

To monitor all inventory for Material and Chemical is correct and at optimum level and ensure inventory stock level in system tally with physical stock.

To monitor SMW monthly / yearly (Capex and OPEX) actual cost expenses against budget.

To review and execute any engineering activities and improvement projects in Sheet Metal.

To liaise with customers and suppliers when required as per the business needs.

To always report all Sheet Metal (SMW) activities to Director with good reporting system.

To carry out any other duties assigned by Head / Superior from time to time.

What to expect:

To lead and coordinate the operations of the sheet metal fabrication department.

To supervise, control and train all SMW Technicians

To ensure all projects are completed on schedule, within budget and to precise technical specifications while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

To ensure inventory control for Consumable and Chemical is accurate and optimum at all given time.

Experience and Personality Preference:

5-8 years of experience from any Aerospace manufacturing mainly focusing on Sheet Metal Work with at least 3 years in supervisory role.

Skills, Knowledge Requirements:

Deep understanding of CNC programming, sheet metal fabrication work, welding and metal properties.

Good interpersonal, communication skills, teamwork and aggressive personality.

High integrity with good analytical and strong problem-solving skills.

Drive continues improvements and process improvement activity in Sheet Metal Work (SMW)

Strong leadership quality, communication, commitment and high responsibility.

Able to work independently as well must have decision making skills and knowledge.

Must able to work under pressure and meet demands of the job.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field.

Working Relationship:

Internal: Senior Manager, Managers, Supervisor, Engineer and Manager from other departments

External: Respective suppliers and customers.
