Job summary

A global electrical solutions company is seeking a candidate with 3 to 5 years of experience in contract bidding and costing for a role in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will collaborate with the Sales organization to prepare technical descriptions, analyze customer needs, and define costs for proposed solutions. The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, strong communication skills, and hands-on experience with costing computation applications. This role supports the Electrification Service Business, allowing hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in contract bidding and costing for electrical power distribution.
  • Experience in preparing commercial bids and client interactions in Electrification business.
  • Strong detail orientation towards RFQs and tender documents.

This Position reports to: Service Project Management & Tendering Man

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will collaborate with the Sales organization and customers throughout the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of applied products and technology. Each day, you will determine costs, prepare final documentation, and serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by performing lost proposal analysis, identifying potential causes, and recommending future actions.

This role contributes to the Electrification Service Business and is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Supporting the local Sales organization and customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in preparing demanding offers.
  • Preparing or supporting the preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specifications, local business/feeder factory indications, and Sales directives.
  • Analyzing customer needs and competitor offers through market information and Sales input.
  • Defining costs for proposed solutions and communicating them to the Sales organization.
Qualifications for the Role
  • More than 3 to 5 years of experience in contract bidding and costing for electrical power distribution solutions.
  • Proven experience in preparing commercial bids and working with clients in the Electrification business, primarily in electrical products.
  • Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with costing computation applications and MS Excel.
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
  • Attentive to both technical and contractual details of RFQs and tender documents.
  • Excellent English communication and negotiation skills; able to write and communicate.
