Job summary

A leading telecommunications company in Malaysia is seeking a Transmission Engineer to manage fault and preventive maintenance of transmission network elements. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering and possess at least 3 years of experience in Transmission Network Operations. Responsibilities include configuration management, performance monitoring, and providing technical solutions for WDM networks. This role requires teamwork, creativity, and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years working experience in Transmission Network Operations for a telecommunication company.
• Experience with DWDM/MSTP/SDH Network is required.
• Good knowledge of DWDM/MSTP/SDH.

Responsibilities

• Perform fault management and preventive maintenance of transmission network elements.
• Provide technical solutions and hands-on support for the WDM network.

Fault management and preventive maintenance of transmission network elements (DWDM) within defined SLA’s.

Fault management in terms of coordination with other teams.

Configuration management for transmission network elements and services.

Performance monitoring of transmission network equipment and its links.

Audit of existing network and suggestion of improvement plans.

Planning support by providing network topology and information.

Provide technical solution and hands-on support on WDM network.

Carry out all necessary technical meetings pertaining to operators, internal staff or its associated customers.

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics / Telecommunications Engineering / Computer Science or any related.

Minimum 3 years working experience in Transmission Network Operations for a telecommunication company with operations/implementation/network planning/cutover experience for DWDM/MSTP/SDH Network.

Good knowledge of DWDM/MSTP/SDH.

Team Player, ability to work in a team and contribute to the team spirit in a positive manner, innovative and creative.
