What You’ll Do
DBMS Enhancement & Innovation
- Research, design, and implement improvements to existing database management systems.
- Develop new features, tools, and utilities for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing database performance and scalability.
- Prototype and validate innovative solutions for data storage, retrieval, and processing.
DBMS Support & Optimization
- Provide advanced support for enterprise‑grade DBMS platforms (Oracle, PostgreSQL, YugabyteDB, MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, VMware Postgres, EDB, IBM Db2).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, availability, and reliability.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for database‑related issues.
- Collaborate with application teams to optimize queries and schema design.
- Continuously evaluate emerging database technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Recommend and integrate innovative solutions such as distributed databases, cloud‑native DBMS, and automation tools.
Leadership
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and establish best practices and standards.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in database engineering or developing.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Expert‑level knowledge in RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, YugabyteDB, MSSQL, MySQL, MariaDB).
- Hands‑on experience with performance tuning, partitioning, replication, and backup/restore.
- Familiarity with NoSQL platforms (MongoDB, Redis) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
- Strong interest in tools development, SQL optimization, and modern database technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently as a self‑starter and within a team environment.
- Experience in server administration and proficiency in multiple operating systems and enterprise‑grade tools is a plus.
