Your Role and Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and support early engagement, conceptual studies, FEED, and inquiry specifications for customers and Account Managers regarding ABB’s integrated solutions within the oil and gas, chemicals, and LNG segments.
- Collaborate with other domain experts (Electrical, Telecom, Digital, etc.), provide technical support during meetings, presentations, and negotiations, and formulate competitive proposals with the most suitable solution/product mix for each opportunity.
- Ensure bids and proposals are well‑documented, accurate, and compliant with risk review processes and approvals.
- Develop integrated electrical and control system solutions, including MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, DCS/PLC/SCADA systems, MCCs, drives, and grid interconnection.
- Interpret and respond to technical specifications, datasheets, and user requirements, ensuring compliance with international and local standards (IEC, IEEE, NFPA, ISO, API).
- Prepare technical proposals, scope of supply definitions, and manage technical deviations during bidding and negotiation phases.
- Provide technical clarifications and value engineering proposals to optimize solutions and commercial positioning.
- Support costing and labor hour estimations in collaboration with engineering, project management, and supply chain teams.
- Participate in technical meetings, vendor evaluations, and customer discussions to ensure alignment and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Project Management) and external stakeholders (OEMs, EPCs, consultants) for seamless project handover and execution.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor solutions, including digital substations, renewables integration, cybersecurity, and decarbonization initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Control, or Automation Engineering.
- 6–10 years of experience in technical sales support, application engineering, or proposal engineering.
- Proficiency in electrical and automation systems for industrial and energy projects.
- Extensive exposure to Power Plants (CCPP/Coal/Renewables), Water Treatment, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical facilities.
- Experience with EPC projects and OEM solution portfolios.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and industrial control architectures.
- Ability to translate technical solutions into commercially viable proposals.
- High‑level analytical, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working in multi‑disciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Proficient in technical tender documentation, compliance matrices, and estimates.
- Effective communication skills in English; additional regional languages.
