Statutory Accountant

The Statutory Accountant is responsible for the preparation, review, and submission of statutory financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role ensures accurate statutory reporting, timely audit completion, and strong coordination with auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders.

Description
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP / IFRS and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate and manage statutory audits, including liaising with external auditors and responding to audit queries
  • Prepare statutory adjustments, reclassifications, and reconciliation between management accounts and statutory accounts
  • Ensure timely regulatory filings, including annual reports and financial statements submission to authorities
  • Support tax reporting and compliance by working closely with tax teams and external advisors
  • Maintain strong documentation and audit trails in line with internal controls and compliance standards
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements and assess impact on statutory reporting
  • Collaborate with GL, FP&A, and shared services teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Support internal and external audits, including SOX and internal control reviews where applicable
  • Participate in process improvements, standardisation initiatives, and reporting enhancements
Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent is preferred
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in statutory reporting, and financial reporting
  • Audit (Big 4 or mid-tier preferred)
  • Strong exposure to IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements
  • Experience working in an MNC, Shared Services, or regional environment is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of statutory accounting, disclosures, and audit requirements
  • Experience preparing statutory packs and reconciliations
  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
