Job Responsibilities

Razer Gold aims to become the world’s leading payment service provider for games and digital content. As our business grows to meet the needs of gamers globally, we are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our team and fulfil the needs of our gamer customer base.

As a Senior Java Engineer in Razer Gold, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and modernization of our core backend systems. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams, product managers, and various business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, scalable, and reliable services that power Razer Gold’s global digital payment ecosystem.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems, driving engineering excellence, and contributing to the foundation of a modern, cloud‑ready architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the architecture, design, and implementation of Razer Gold’s core backend systems.
• Deliver high‑quality, performant, and scalable services following engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Prepare and maintain technical design documents, ensuring clarity and alignment within the team.
• Tackle complex technical challenges across performance, scalability, reliability, and system modernization.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and automation tests to ensure high code quality.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay on top of critical production issues, drive root‑cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate effectively with other engineering teams, QA, product managers, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, Physics, or related technical fields.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and fundamental computer science principles.
• 3+ years of hands‑on backend development experience (you may adjust to your desired seniority), preferably in E‑Commerce, FinTech, or other high‑traffic, transaction‑heavy systems.
• Solid experience with Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot).
• Experience implementing unit tests and automated functional tests (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, etc.).
• Experience working with relational databases; familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL is a strong plus.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus; AWS experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with microservices, RESTful APIs, event‑driven architecture, and system modernization is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
