A construction and development firm is seeking a Senior Site Supervisor/Project Engineer in Johor, Malaysia. The role involves coordinating site activities, liaising with contractors, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. Candidates should have a Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of AutoCAD. This position requires site-based work and flexibility regarding hours.
Coordinate and monitor daily site activities to ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Liaise with contractors, consultants, and authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
Monitor construction progress, quality, and safety standards on site.
Identify potential delays and propose corrective actions.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality of workmanship complies with contract requirements and industry standards.
Inspect and verify works before covering up or proceeding to the next stage.
Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions.
Highlight discrepancies, constructability issues, and design conflicts early.
Assist in contract administration, including progress claims, variations, and site documentation.
Conduct site inspections, testing coordination, and defect rectification during DLP.
Prepare progress reports and highlight project risks to management.
Act as the developer’s representative to protect project quality, timeline, and cost.
Ensure consultants’ and contractors’ decisions align with project objectives, budget, and quality expectations.
REQUIREMENT:
Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building, Construction Management, or related fields, with minimum 1–3 years’ relevant working experience in property development, consultancy, or the construction industry; fresh graduates may be considered.
Ability to interpret and coordinate architectural, structural, and M&E drawings, with basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site coordination.
Familiar with local authority requirements, statutory approvals, and regulatory compliance.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or project management software is an added advantage.
Willing to be site-based, travel between project sites, and work extended hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Possess own transport; immediate availability is an added advantage.
