The opportunity:

Responsible for sales of Automation and Communication (AC) business within Power Grid Automation BU in accordance with strategy. Build long term customer relationships and manage resolution to specific customer needs and issues. Our Grid Automation business unit has a comprehensive portfolio of solutions. These range from substation automation, communication networks, grid automation services, grid edge solutions to enterprise software solutions. How you’ll make an impact:

• You will support and grow Sales within Automation (Substation Protection and Control) and Communication in Malaysia, supporting full sales process from Promotion, Product Homologation, Distributor Channel development and direct sales to Utility and Industry Customers. You will create added value for the customer and Hitachi Energy and ensures the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals by using effective sales techniques, communicate details in accordance with Hitachi Energy offering and strategy.
• You will prepare sales plans using company tools, perform regular status reviews and propose recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls, identify Sales opportunities and use CRM tool to record and share, lead direct relation / communication with customers and lead negotiation.
• You will ensure most competitive offer taking into account the market situation and customer’s conditions, identify which approach (e.g. direct sales, consortium, or channel) can be applied to better serve the customer, support bid/no bid analyses and decisions and participate in project risk review processes. You will involve in - external: direct relations with customers, Channel partners, Distributors, Potential Third-Party suppliers and internal: Account managers, Bid and Proposal team, Solution line specialists, Country and Regional management.
• You will be leading, drive and hold itself accountable for the highest standards of health, safety and environment to ensure Zero Harm is achieved, responsible for compliance with relevant HSE policy and procedures, ensuring proactive risk assessments take place and corrective actions monitored/followed up. You will build an injury, incident, near miss and hazard reporting culture within the team, guaranteeing reported incidents will be investigated and action taken, create a workplace where everyone views health, safety and environment as the most important non-negotiable value of your business.

Your background:

• You hold Engineering/Trade qualifications – Electrical or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience required in Sales skills.
• Experience across Electrical Industry within Utilities, Power T& D or Power Systems projects, especially in Substation Automation & Communication is an advantage.
• Advanced computer skills across MS Office, MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint.
• Expresses opinions, able to work with multiple stakeholders and positions.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills, high attention to detail.
