We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (Sales & Tender Engineer) to support our Australian tendering, estimating, and sales operations. This senior role is responsible for managing complex tender submissions, preparing high‑quality cost estimates, interpreting engineering drawings, developing scopes of work, and coordinating bid documentation.

You will work closely with our Australian sales and project teams to ensure competitive, accurate, and timely tender submissions for government and infrastructure projects.

About the Role

This senior role is responsible for managing complex tender submissions, preparing high‑quality cost estimates, interpreting engineering drawings, developing scopes of work, and coordinating bid documentation.

You will work closely with our Australian sales and project teams to ensure competitive, accurate, and timely tender submissions for government and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Management & Estimating

  • Lead the preparation, compilation, and submission of Australian project tenders and proposals.

  • Perform detailed cost estimations, including materials, labour, machinery, fabrication, and subcontractor pricing.

  • Conduct drawing take‑offs, quantity estimates, and technical evaluations.

  • Prepare scope of works, BOQs, pricing schedules, delivery timelines, compliance forms, and project methodology.

  • Ensure all tender submissions meet Australian standards and client requirements.

Sales & Commercial Support

  • Support the Australian sales team by preparing sales packages, capability documents, and pricing models.

  • Provide commercial input regarding pricing strategies, risks, and opportunities.

  • Conduct supplier and subcontractor negotiations to gather competitive pricing.

  • Assist in preparing tender presentations and sales pitches.

Documentation & Coordination

  • Maintain accurate records of ongoing tenders, historical pricing, and client submissions.

  • Coordinate information between Malaysian and Australian teams to ensure document consistency.

  • Manage deadlines and ensure all bid components are delivered on time.

Technical & Market Insight

  • Interpret engineering drawings (civil, structural, mechanical).

  • Identify project risks and provide recommendations during bid preparation.

  • Support research on Australian tender markets, project pipelines, and upcoming opportunities.

Requirements
Essential
  • Full Malaysian working rights.

  • Minimum 5–10 years experience in tendering, estimating, sales engineering, QS, or related construction roles.

  • Strong ability to read drawings and perform take‑offs (civil/structural/mechanical).

  • Experience preparing tender packages, estimating project timelines, and writing scopes of work.

  • Strong English communication (written & spoken) for daily coordination with Australian teams.

  • Solid proficiency with Excel, cost estimation tools, and tender software.

  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to handle multiple deadlines.

Desirable (Not Mandatory)
  • Experience in the Australian construction or engineering market.

  • Background in composites, civil works, bridges, or infrastructure projects.

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture, or related fields.

  • Experience with government tenders or major infrastructure bids.
