Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
- Knowledge in the APQP, PPAP, MSA, GR&R, SPC, Control plan, PFMEA and 7 QC tools.
- Knowledge in Material Requirements as per ASTM spec requirements.
- Competent in Spoken, Reading, and Writing Malay, English & Mandarin (is an advantage).
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace machining or precision manufacturing.
- Experience with statistical analysis (SPC, MSA, CP/ CPK, Pareto Analysis).
Responsibility
a) Supplier and Customer Quality Management
- Drive supplier improvement programs and develop suppliers to meet requirements.
- Interface with aerospace customers (OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers) to address quality concerns and ensure satisfaction.
- Support customer audits and provide necessary documentation (certifications, test reports, etc.)
b) Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102 standards.
- Develop and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, including procedures, work instructions and control plans.
c) Process Improvement and Problem Solving
- Utilize root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto) to resolve quality issues.
- Lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives to reduce defects and improve processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to implement Lean/ Six Sigma methodologies.
- Analyze process capability (Cp/Cpk, Gauge R&R, SPC) and recommend improvements.
d) Calibration of Measuring and Monitoring Equipment
- Develop, implement and maintain equipment calibration program test equipment to meet accuracy standards.
- Work with external calibration suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely calibrations and proper documentation.
- Investigate and resolve out-of-tolerance conditions, including risk assessments on product quality and necessary corrective actions.
e) Inspection and Testing Oversight
- Oversee CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), optical inspection and other metrology equipment for part validation.
f) Training and Leadership
- Mentor junior Quality Engineers and inspectors on best practices.
- Conduct training sessions on quality standards, inspection techniques, calibration procedures, and problem-solving methodologies.
