Senior QAQC Engineer
Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance and quality control systems in construction projects ensuring compliance with contractual specifications, statutory and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management & Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, and QAQC procedures.
- Ensure all works comply with contract requirements, technical specifications, approved drawings, and applicable codes and standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, BS, MS).
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including local authority and client requirements.
- Inspection, Testing & Documentation:
- Coordinate and conduct site inspections, material inspections, and testing activities at various project stages.
- Review and verify material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and test reports.
- Ensure proper documentation, record‑keeping, and traceability of QAQC records, including inspection reports, test results, and handover documents.
- Non‑Conformance & Corrective Actions:
- Identify, record, and manage Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor closure of NCRs and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
- Coordination & Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams on QAQC matters.
- Coordinate inspections and witness points with consultants and third‑party inspectors where required.
- Attend project meetings and provide quality‑related inputs, reports, and recommendations.
- Supervise and guide junior QAQC engineers and inspectors on site.
- Conduct training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions on quality standards and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a strong quality culture across projects.
- Handover & Project Close‑Out:
- Ensure all QAQC documentation is properly compiled for project handover and final submission.
- Support final inspections, testing, commissioning, and defect rectification processes.
- Assist in post‑project reviews and lessons learned documentation.
Job Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / M&E or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant QAQC experience in construction, M&E, industrial, or ACMV projects.
- Proven experience handling QAQC activities for medium to large‑scale projects.
- Experience:
- Strong knowledge of QAQC systems, inspection procedures, and construction standards.
- Familiar with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience with material inspection, testing coordination, and NCR management.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills with multiple stakeholders.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Willing to be site‑based and travel as required.
- Working Conditions:
- Primarily site‑based with occasional office work.
- May be required to work extended hours depending on project requirements.
