We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Construction) to join our Malaysian team. The successful candidate will work closely with Australian Project Managers to support planning, coordination, reporting, and oversight of major Australian government construction and infrastructure projects.

This senior role requires strong construction knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple project streams while ensuring all documentation meets Australian standards. You will play a key role in bridging operations between Malaysia and Australia and contributing to the successful delivery of large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Delivery

Support the end-to-end delivery of Australian government construction and infrastructure projects.

Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and resource coordination.

Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, variations, technical reports, and compliance documents.

Team & Stakeholder Communication

Coordinate daily with Australian PMs, consultants, suppliers, and contractors.

Participate in meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on tasks and action items.

Maintain seamless communication aligned with Australian project standards.

Compliance, Quality & Safety

Monitor project risks, ensure quality standards are met, and support safety documentation.

Assist with project audits, progress checks, and milestone reporting.

Ensure all documentation aligns with relevant Australian codes and standards (training provided).

Process & Technical Improvements

Contribute to workflow optimisation, process improvements, and reporting enhancements.

Support the use of digital project management tools (Procore, Aconex, MS Project, etc.).

Requirements

Full Malaysian working rights (citizen or permanent resident).

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Minimum 5-8 years experience in construction project management, site management, or engineering roles.

Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, contractor coordination, and project documentation.

Excellent written and spoken English to collaborate daily with Australian teams.

Ability to handle multiple deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively.

Proficiency with project software (MS Project, Excel, reporting tools, etc.).

Experience in bridge construction, structural works, or civil infrastructure projects.

Familiarity with Australian construction standards or regulatory frameworks.

Prior experience supporting international clients or cross-border project coordination.
