A Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 3 years in project engineering within manufacturing are required. Knowledge of regulatory standards and SAP is essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

Senior Project Engineer can lead and manage manufacturing projects, ensuring efficient design, implementation, and optimization of production systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering processes, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects meet cost, quality, and timeline objectives. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for New Project Introduction of the company.

    Take charge of managing the entire New Product Introduction process, from concept to production.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tooling, production, quality, planning and procurement, to coordinate the launch of new products.

    Conduct detailed feasibility studies for new projects in collaboration with the HOD and other senior leaders.

    Evaluate technical requirements, risks, and resource allocation to determine project viability.

    Ensure that project milestones are met, and escape issues or delays to the Project Manager as needed.

  2. Manage all the existing projects.

    Continue to manage and monitor ongoing projects, ensuring that existing products meet production targets and quality standards.

    Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding engineering and production issues, ensuring that all customer expectations are communicated clearly to internal teams and met in a timely manner.

  3. Manage production and process during trial run.

    Oversee and manage the entire process from trial runs of new products to full-scale mass production, ensuring that production processes are reliable and scalable.

    Continuously monitor cycle times and product weight consistency during production to ensure efficiency and quality.

  4. Monitor the lifespan of production tooling.

    Communicate with customers when tooling reaches the end of its lifecycle, ensuring that new tooling is ordered in a timely manner to avoid disruptions.

    Coordinate with customers and internal teams on the need for new tooling inserts.

  5. Develop and maintain accurate and detailed BOM for all new and existing products in the SAP system.

    Document and communicate all packaging methods and production routes in the company’s shared project folders.

  6. Responsible for improvement & Kaizen activities.

    Lead process improvement and efficiency initiatives, including Kaizen activities, to reduce waste, improve production speed, and enhance product quality.

    Work closely with production, quality control, and R&D teams to identify areas of improvement and ensure that solutions are effectively implemented.

  7. Responsible for documentation and compliance.

    Take responsibility for preparing and submitting the necessary documentation for PPAP.

  8. Responsible in internal and external ISO audits to ensure compliance with industry and quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in project engineering within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation systems, and industry best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards in manufacturing (e.g., OSHA, ISO 9001).
