You will be responsible for tasks from research to prototype testing and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outcomes. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector. Proficiency in SolidWorks and a strong mechanical aptitude are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in product design and development, ideally related to Completion Tools in Oil and Gas.
• Knowledge of Downhole Tools & Hydraulics and understanding of manufacturing processes is essential.
• FEA experience preferred and valid driving license is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform product design and development tasks including concept design, detailed engineering, and testing.
• Prepare assembly procedures and test summaries for prototypes.
• Provide engineering support to sales, marketing, and manufacturing.

Overview

Responsible for the design, development and testing of new products and sustaining engineering of existing products, performing design calculations, analyses, assembly, and testing of prototypes, handling engineering design projects from meticulous planning to flawless execution.

Responsibilities

• Perform product design and development tasks such as, but not limited to, research, concept design, detailed engineering, design calculations, stress analyses, material selections and tolerance studies.
• Perform and support new product development work providing regular reviews.
• Perform and support sustaining engineering work on existing products providing regular reviews.
• Prepare assembly procedures, testing plans, testing procedures, test summaries and prototype cost estimates.
• Assemble and test prototypes and document the results.
• Carry out engineering changes and product improvements for both new and existing products.
• Prepare and maintain engineering design plans, product design files and documentation as per industry best practices, international standards and NOV procedures.
• Provide engineering disposition on product and component non-conformances during manufacturing and field operations.
• Actively participate in and contribute to design reviews and routine meetings with Engineering Manager, peers and colleagues.
• Provide technical support to sales, marketing, applications, manufacturing, and operations through effective collaboration.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvements of products, processes, and services.
• Review procedures and processes on a regular basis and provide recommendations for continual improvements.
• Prepare technical data for manufacturing prototypes through commercialization and review with Engineering Manager.
• Travel to other locations and fields onshore/offshore as required.
• Perform all the other duties and tasks assigned by the Engineering Manager from time to time as required.

• A minimum of 5-8 years experience product design and development experience. Ideally, related to Completion Tools in Oil and Gas or Industrial Product design.
• Strong Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in mechanical engineering product design and development.
• Knowledge of Downhole Tools & Hydraulics.
• Technical and practical knowledge of operations, products and company policies.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, EPDM and Team Center.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Willing to travel and work in the fields onshore and offshore.
• Field operations in oil and gas.
• FEA experience preferred.
• Experience in Teamcenter preferred.
• Valid driving license.
