Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Process Engineer (Oleo), you will play a critical role in project execution and process optimization. Your responsibilities include:
- Preparing engineering documents such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), equipment sizing and specifications, heat and mass balances, utilities and consumption calculations, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), operating manuals, automation descriptions, and HAZOP studies.
- Collaborating closely with the Process Department Head and interacting with internal departments, customers, and suppliers.
- Supporting project planning and coordination activities.
- Managing technical and process-related matters within the Oleochemical Department.
- Developing and maintaining chemical process simulations using available software.
- Participating in site surveys, pre-commissioning, and plant start-up activities, including troubleshooting and preparing detailed technical reports.
- Collecting industrial feedback during site presence to support continuous improvement of process know-how and product lines.
- Addressing health, safety, and environmental considerations in process and plant operations.
- Providing technical support for process design, company technologies, R&D activities, standardization processes, and sales support.
Job Requirements
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the engineering field (flexibility may be considered for exceptional profiles).
- Experience in the Oleochemical industry preferred; Oil & Gas experience will be considered as an alternative.
- Hands-on site experience including plant mechanical checks, pre-commissioning, start-up, fine-tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of chemical process simulation software such as Chemcad, EDR, or HTRI (highly valued but not strictly required).
- Strong knowledge of engineering calculations including line sizing, safety valve sizing, heat exchanger sizing, and pump sizing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and a continuous learning attitude.

- Willingness to travel within Malaysia and internationally.
