Job Description

About this role: We’re building a brand‑new Enterprise Automation & AI team in ETS, focused on modernising platforms, removing manual work, and driving smarter ways of working with automation and AI. We are looking for an experienced Python and DevOps Software Engineer who loves solving problems and experimenting with new tools to make a big impact.

In this role, you will help uplift SEEK’s core technology platforms with CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code, build automations that streamline processes, and take engineering ownership of the AI platforms that SEEK adopts. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders across ETS to deliver solutions that reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and enable our teams to work smarter and faster.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable, high‑performance applications and automations that align with ETS objectives.
  • Ensuring that systems are well‑designed, tested, and fit for purpose across multiple environments.
  • Owning services in production, with responsibility for uptime, troubleshooting, and operational quality.
  • Driving discussions and making decisions on architecture, design, and implementation of subsystem components.
  • Managing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure‑as‑Code deployments across environments.
  • Championing the use of AI tools and automation to improve developer productivity and team efficiency.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across ETS to deliver consistent, high‑quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications
Skills and Experience
  • Python Development
    • Strong experience in Python, with proven ability to design and implement applications using AWS SAM (queues, APIs, DBs, object storage).
    • Writes type‑safe, testable, object‑oriented code.
    • Experience implementing SDKs and third‑party integrations (e.g., Slack, AWS services, APIs).
    • Familiarity with secure coding practices and mitigating common vulnerabilities.
  • DevOps & Platform Engineering
    • Solid understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure‑as‑Code and Config‑as‑Code.
    • Hands‑on experience with Terraform, plus exposure to CloudFormation, Ansible, SSM, or CDK.
    • Ability to manage multi‑environment deployments and support reliable services in production.
  • AI & Automation
    • Enthusiasm for experimenting with AI tools to improve development workflows and productivity.
    • Ability to champion AI and automation practices across ETS, sharing learnings and best practices.
  • Professional Skills
    • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
    • Effective communicator, able to collaborate across engineering, product, and operations teams.
    • Comfortable working with rapidly evolving requirements and designs.
    • Passion for automation and enthusiasm for using AI tools to improve productivity.

About the Team

The Enterprise Automation & AI team is a new group within ETS, created to modernise how we deliver and support technology across SEEK. Our focus is on uplifting the way ETS platforms are engineered through CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code, building automations that connect systems and reduce manual effort, and taking engineering ownership of the AI platforms that SEEK adopts. We work closely with teams across ETS to embed automation and AI into day‑to‑day operations, ensuring our systems are efficient, reliable, and ready to scale.
