Job description
Role Description

The role is to provide FNZ with an in-house expert, skilled in all facets of design, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of our corporate and datacentre networks. Candidates require knowledge of network design, superior skills in network switching, firewalling and routing. Experience of load-balancing large web platforms is essential along with excellent network diagnosis, experience of routing and liaising with ISPs and vendors. Experience of cloud computing and related networking is a bonus.

Organizational Design

The role reports to the Network Lead - APAC and will be part of the wider Platform Services team. The network engineer role will also work closely with Information Security to ensure network security is maintained.

Specific Role Responsibilities
  • CCNP or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working with large, complex, globally diverse hybrid networks encompassing on-premises data centre and cloud connectivity.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in configuration and management of Cisco switches (IOS/NXOS)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in configuration and management of Firewall operation on platforms such as CheckPoint & FortiGate.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of complex OSPF and BGP design and operational management
  • Experience of F5 Big-IP LTM/GTM
  • Experience of Azure/AWS/GCP networking and advantage
  • Experience of VMware SDN NSX-T or similar overlay technologies
  • Basic OS knowledge of Windows and Linux servers
  • Common Design topologies for layer 2 / layer 3 services
Experience required
  • Degree level qualification and at least 5 years relevant work experience
  • Cisco CCNP (or above) certification
  • Strong understanding of complex BGP topologies
  • Strong knowledge of network design techniques
  • Check Point R81 firewall experience
  • FortiGate Firewall experience
  • F5 LTM and GTM experience
  • VMWare NSX-T knowledge highly desirable
  • Independent, ability to self-manage and able to take initiative
  • Ability to take a lead technical role and be point of contact for the team
  • Mentor junior members of the team
  • Superior problem solving capabilities
  • Good presentation and communication skills
