Job description

Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer

Taking the conceptual design through to implementation and handover;

Ensuring sustainability targets are incorporated into the design;

Producing the tender documentation, including project specifications and contract schedules such as Summary of Tender and Schedule of Rates;

Progressing the design in accordance with the Design Checklist;

Chairing Sub‑contractor progress meetings;

Liaising with Quality Assurance / Quality Compliance Engineers to ensure they are aligned with the requirements of the specification;

Mentoring an Engineer with the intent of securing properly trained personnel to ensure the continual expansion of the company;

Ensuring each System Supervisor is provided with the current and applicable shop and space management drawings;

Ensuring the System Supervisor is fully briefed on the awarded scope of work, the tender technical documents and all contractual revisions to tender documentation;

In the absence of a Project based Lead Engineer, the Senior Engineer shall assume the role and responsibilities assigned to the Lead Engineer position;

In the absence of a Project based Engineer, the Senior Engineer shall assume the role and responsibilities assigned to the Engineer position.

Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager and the Management.

• To undertake the assigned work scope in a professional and responsible manner;

• To ensure full awareness of his / her scope of work and the extent of the obligations of Exyte;
• The typical technical and commercial scope would include as a minimum: pricing of request for quotations, report writing, design, all stages of tendering through to award, construction, commissioning through to completion, surveys and fact finding, trouble shooting, final account evaluation, etc.;
• Ad hoc duties as determined by management.
