Job summary

A global engineering consultancy in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical systems for data centres and buildings. You'll manage design submissions and attend various meetings, ensuring projects meet local codes and regulations. The role requires at least five years of experience, a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, recognised by Board of Engineers, Malaysia.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with M&E Consultancy firm(s).
  • Strong knowledge of local codes and regulations.
  • Positive work attitude and able to work well independently and as part of a team.

Job description
  • Design and specify mechanical systems for data centres and buildings, such as Air-Conditioning, Mechanical Ventilation and Fire Protection systems
  • Prepare relevant documents, design calculations and drawings for submissions to authorities
  • Attend client-consultant, site and technical meetings
  • Provide project management and construction supervision
  • Review contractors' technical submissions of equipment/materials/drawings
  • Conduct site inspections of installations
  • Witness testing and commissioning of equipment/system
  • Work with the clients' project team and fellow consultants to coordinate and detail project design requirement
  • Be responsible for any duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, recognised by Board od Engineers, Malaysia
  • Able to work in Malaysia
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with M&E Consultancy firm(s)
  • Strong knowledge of local codes and regulations
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling software
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Positive work attitude
  • Able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Enjoy the process of developing design ideas into actual quality installation and validating through performance tests
  • Likes hands‑on site and testing & commissioning work
  • Experience in Data Centre industry is preferred
  • Suitable applicant with longer relevant experience, deeper technical knowledge and additional technical qualifications, such as Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC), will be considered for more senior position
