Job summary

A leading engineering firm located in Penang is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop products using 3D CAD software. Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. The role will involve product assembly, testing, and process improvements, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for product design and development using 3D CAD software and other simulation tools
• Responsible for product assembly, testing, and buyoff
• Execute mechanical piece‑part design, process and tooling verification
• Implement product and process improvement
• Perform proper documentation including DCN, SOP, user manual, piece part, pneumatics drawing, design drawing, etc.
• Coordinate design phases, transfer, and project scheduling
• Responsible for new module and new machine design independently and review junior engineer’s design
• Responsible for evaluation and generate analysis report independently
• Master on machine operation and working principles
• Translate customer’s requirements into design specifications, evaluate design feasibility, and provide technical expertise to exceed customer expectations
• Guide and coach development engineers and ensure knowledge sharing
• Undertake other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company, with on‑time full closure

Job Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics with second upper class or above
• Strong in mechanical design, material selection, and metal/plastic fabrication process
• Well versed in SolidWorks software
• Knowledge of pick & place, placement accuracy or laser application is an advantage
• Good working relationship and positive work attitude; self‑motivated with ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Innovative, creative, and hardworking
• Strong technical leadership, analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Positive thinking and willing to provide extended support to customers
• Enjoy learning new things and willing to accept new challenges
• Good semiconductor process knowledge or IR technology is an added advantage
