Your ‘day to day’

In this role with Philip Morris Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., you will be responsible to plan, develop and implement the company’s constructive engagement activities with local and central government and officials in order to protect the company’s interests and create a stable and positive environment which enables the company to achieve its business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop and implement the company’s constructive engagement activities with central and local government and officials in order to protect the company’s interests and create a stable and positive environment which enables the company to achieve its business objectives.
  • Officially represent the Company in front of the central and local government authorities, including managing the Company’s efforts to outreach key Government policy‑makers and regulatory and enforcement agencies.
  • Ensure proper monitoring of the legislative and political environment in order to spot emerging threats and opportunities through the network of contacts. Act in a supporting role for PMM’s other functions to secure commercial actives to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Act in a supporting role for PMM’s other functions to assess and provide advise to secure commercial actives to comply with regulatory requirements. Assist other functions of PMM in resolving issues & challenges with the local government.
  • Develop strong business relationships with external partners, as well as cultivate positive relationships between the Company and political stakeholders.
  • Represent PMM in industry platform (AmCham, ECT...) to secure a level regulatory/ fiscal play ground to protect company's best interest.
Who we’re looking for
  • Undergraduate and Master’s degree, preferably in directly related field of Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications, or a related field
  • +12 years in a Corporate Affairs, Public Relations or Legal environment or other relevant experience in a multinational company
  • +10 years of experience developing and managing relationships across various sectors, ideally including experience in charitable and non‑charitable contributions. Proven ability to build and execute engagement strategies to form alliances with various parties
  • 7+ years working in highly regulated sectors or industries such as pharma, chemical, energy and or construction
  • +5 years of Leadership/People management responsibility if the role has direct reports.
  • Experience in strategic planning and business analysis
