A leading construction law firm in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Legal Executive to oversee contracts related to construction projects. The successful candidate will prepare and negotiate construction contracts, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while providing legal guidance. Candidates must have a degree in law and at least 3 years of experience in the construction industry, particularly with FIDIC contracts. Prepare, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including FIDIC contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements.
Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
Provide legal guidance on contractual rights, obligations, and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with construction laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
Handle contract disputes, claims, and arbitration in accordance with FIDIC and other governing laws.
Assist in litigation matters and coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary.
Identify and mitigate legal risks in construction projects.
Conduct due diligence on contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Keep updated on legal and regulatory changes affecting the construction industry.
Ensure adherence to corporate governance and compliance with statutory requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and senior management to provide legal insights.
Liaise with government authorities, clients, and subcontractors to resolve legal issues.
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6pm
