Purpose of Role
To lead and manage the finance and accounting functions of the Company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, project cost monitoring, and compliance with regulatory and tax requirements. The Finance Manager plays a critical role in supporting business decisions, particularly in relation to property development and construction project financials.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Handle matters related to Bursa Malaysia, including compliance with Listing Requirements, announcements, and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure full compliance with Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission (SC), Companies Act and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Consolidate financial reports for group companies (if applicable) and report financial performance to management.
- Prepare management reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and project needs.
- Manage banking relationships, loan drawdowns, repayment schedules, and facilities utilization.
- Prepare cash flow projections and provide financial insight for strategic planning.
Project & Cost Monitoring (Construction & Development)
- Work closely with project and contract teams to monitor project budgets, work-in-progress (WIP), billing schedules, and cost control.
- Review and analyse project costing, claims, VO (variation orders), and subcontractor payments.
- Assist in project financing, bridging loans, end-financing drawdowns, and bridging repayment tracking.
Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with SST, corporate tax, withholding tax, and all regulatory reporting to LHDN, SSM, EPF, SOCSO, etc.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure internal controls and SOPs are adhered to and assist in audit preparation and resolution of audit issues.
Team & Systems Management
- Supervise and guide the finance team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in reporting and operations.
- Review accounting entries and finalise month-end and year-end closings.
- Drive process improvements and explore automation of financial tasks (e.g. e-payment, accounting software, ERP).
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional Certification: CPA, ACCA, MIA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 6–10 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role within a diversified investment group, managing across multiple business units, with property development and construction as the core pillars. Prior experience in public listed companies, REIT environments, and IPO preparation or listing exercises would be an added advantage.
- System Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., SQL, UBS, AutoCount) and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
