Job summary

A professional services firm is seeking an experienced Accountant in Kuala Lumpur to oversee day-to-day operational matters of the accounts department. The successful candidate will prepare financial budgets and reports, manage General Ledger activities, and liaise with auditors. Applicants should have at least a degree in accountancy and 3-5 years of relevant experience, with strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is essential, and fluency in English is required.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for day operational matters of the accounts department.
  • Responsible for General Ledger, Account Receivable and Account Payable being carried smoothly.
  • Manage and prepare full set of accounts for Mazars Malaysia & Mazars Clients.
  • Management of key transaction work streams including direct liaison with Mazars Asia Pacific and former Moores Rowland work.
  • Prepare annual financial budget, cash flow forecast, cost analysis and monthly financial reports to Management.
  • To monitor and prepare the reconciliation for all balance sheet items and control accounts.
  • Responsible and assist to coordinate and prepare the financial budget or projection and performance target.
  • Work closely with Directors, Managers and staff in all operation matters relating to finance especially in timely collections of audit.
  • Liaise with external auditor and Mazars tax expertise with regards to annual statutory reporting and tax submission.
  • To assist Assistant Finance & Account Manager on ad-hoc work.
  • Any other related job assigned by the Supervisor which deems to be appropriate.
Job Requirements
  • Education: Minimum Degree in Accountancy or any related field.
  • Working Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Team player.
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge: Good communication and people management skills.
  • Good organization skills
  • Good administration skill and recording knowledge
  • Sense of responsibility, integrity and able to handle confidential matters
  • Excellent functional knowledge and skills in using Microsoft applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages is advantageous.
