Overview
This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial and regulatory reporting within the dynamic Payments, Partnerships, and Fintech Ecosystems division. The Senior Executive will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of mandatory reports, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. A crucial component is managing data quality and generating business insights, while also actively participating in process improvements and stakeholder communication to enhance the efficiency of our reporting framework.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Regulatory and Financial Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of complex regulatory and finance reports, ensuring accurate and timely filing with relevant bodies.
- Guarantee that all reporting activities comply with current regulatory requirements, Company policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Participate in the research and implementation of new or revised regulatory reporting requirements as needed.
- Generate specific operational reports, including the terminal movement report (repurposing terminals from the TVM report) and the merchant active rate report (Active & Inactive merchants based on the monthly Terminal Performance Report).
- Data Integrity and System Administration
- Perform rigorous data validation checks using sources like the TVM closing report to maintain high data quality.
- Manage MIS/BIAU and database-relevant tasks, specifically compiling and reconciling the merchant profile from the Ascend base and sales volume report.
- Ensure all work, audit trails, and relevant working files are properly organized, produced, and stored for record-keeping and compliance.
- Accurately update and track the record of projects from the consolidated project base.
- Process Improvement and Documentation
- Proactively recommend and implement procedural changes/process improvement opportunities to streamline reporting processes, enhance accuracy, and ensure timeliness.
- Create and maintain current, accurate, and detailed procedures in a standard format that meets regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
- Provide necessary supporting documents for specific programs, such as the (MDF) Tap on Phone Merchant Programme for external audit (e.g., EY PY2023).
- Stakeholder Communication
- Effectively communicate reporting and data needs to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely cooperation and adherence to established data standards.
Experience/Requirements
- Experience and Industry Focus:
- Three to five years of progressive professional experience in a role focused on financial reporting, regulatory compliance, or business intelligence.
- Direct experience within the Payments, Banking, or Financial Technology (Fintech) industry is highly preferred.
- Core Skills:
- Proven ability to manage the end-to-end regulatory and financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Strong practical skills in data handling, validation, and reconciliation of large, complex datasets.
- Proficiency with reporting tools, database platforms (for example, SQL), and advanced data analysis using spreadsheet software.
- Compliance and Communication:
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and banking regulatory compliance principles.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to maintain meticulous records, audit trails, and detailed procedure documentation.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly when defining or enforcing data requirements.
