Job summary

A reputable property development company based in Kedah is looking for an experienced finance professional. The role requires preparing management accounts, maintaining accurate ledgers, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. A degree in Accountancy and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance are essential. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and good communication abilities are critical. The position will be based in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Finance & Accounts.
  • Experience in the property development sector is preferred.
  • Exposure to real estate/property industry is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
  • Review journal entries and ensure proper documentation for approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
  • Guide and review work of junior finance staff.

Job description

Prepare monthly management accounts, schedules, and reconciliations

Maintain accurate general ledger, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions

Review journal entries and ensure proper documentation for approvals

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g. SST, withholding tax, e-invoicing).

Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules

Monitor project costs against approved budgets and contract values, track cost variations, change orders and claims

Monitor cash flow and support project cash planning.

Guide and review work of junior finance staff

Job Requirements

Possess a Degree or Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent qualifications.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably within the property development sector.

Experience in Accounting (exposure to real estate/property industry will be an added advantage).

Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel.

Committed, analytical, meticulous, accountable and reliable.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, efficient time management skills.

Willing to be based in Sungai Petani, Kedah.
